The candleTIN is the most versatile natural-wax candle Exotac makes, and the versatility is the point. Three wicks per candle, two different wick burn rates, and two tin sizes mean one product covers everything from a quiet source of light to a small emergency stove.

The wick choice, made at checkout, sets the character of the candle. The hot-burn wick puts out heat: run all three and the tin becomes hot enough to dry out damp tinder, pasteurize or boil water in a pinch, or warm an emergency blanket. The slow-burn wick trades heat for endurance: paired with the large tin and lit one wick at a time, it becomes a 30-hour continuous-burn candle for light during a long power outage. Burn times span roughly 1 hour (small, hot-burn, three wicks) to 30 hours (large, slow-burn, one wick), so you choose your point on the light-versus-heat curve by how many wicks you light.

The wax is 100% beeswax, made in house from start to finish. Beeswax is the cleanest wax you can burn: it is free of petroleum products, pleasant to light, and, unlike paraffin, it does not crack in the cold, which matters for a candle that lives in a car kit through winter. Exotac takes obvious pride in being part of a craft that is more than 5,000 years old.

The tin is durable and reusable: the small size has a screw top and the large has a slip top, and both protect the candle in transit and can be repurposed once the wax is gone. The candleTIN is the sustained-output complement to a lighter or a ferro rod in a kit, and it is covered by Exotac's lifetime warranty.
